Dr. Hayley Brown, our board-certified plastic surgeon at Desert Hills Plastic Surgery, helps women throughout Las Vegas and Henderson, Nevada, restore their shape with breast lift surgery. She works alongside board-certified anesthesiologist Dr. Steve Brown, and together they focus on safety and detailed care before and after surgery.
Why Pregnancy and Weight Loss Change Your Breast Shape
During pregnancy, your breasts expand as glandular tissue increases and skin stretches to accommodate that growth. After breastfeeding or hormonal shifts, the volume tends to decrease, but the stretched skin doesn’t fully tighten again. Weight loss can create a similar effect. When fat volume decreases, the skin envelope may remain looser than before.
Over time, this leads to sagging, lower nipple position, and a loss of upper fullness. These changes are structural, not just surface-level, which is why exercise alone cannot correct them.
What a Breast Lift Actually Does
A breast lift, also called mastopexy, removes excess skin and reshapes the underlying tissue to create a lifted contour. The nipple is repositioned to sit higher on the breast mound, and the overall shape looks more youthful.
This procedure does not automatically add volume. Some women choose to combine a lift with implants, while others simply want their natural tissue repositioned. During your consultation, we talk through your wishes and review before-and-after photos so you understand what is realistic for your body.
Is a Breast Lift Right for You?
You may be a strong candidate for a breast lift if you are finished having children and your weight has remained stable for several months. During a detailed consultation, we take time to understand what has changed, what you would like to improve, and whether a lift alone will give you the shape you want.
With thoughtful planning, restoring shape after pregnancy or weight loss is absolutely possible. To talk through your options, call Desert Hills Plastic Surgery at 702-260-7707 to schedule your consultation.
