A mommy makeover is a combination of cosmetic procedures designed to restore a new mother to her pre-pregnancy look. You can customize your mommy makeover to meet your body specific needs.
Procedures that are often included in a mommy makeover include:
Recovery can vary due to the number of treatments performed and pre-surgery health.
Although you’ll return home the day of surgery, you should have a friend or family member available to look after you for a few days. You’ll also need help with the children for at least a week, because you will not be able to drive or lift children.
If you have a tummy tuck, there are some special considerations:
- You will have a pain pump and drain tubes for the first week.
- You won’t be able to put pressure on the incision for a week, so you’ll have to walk with your hip flexed. Sleeping on a recliner is recommended for this reason.
- You should walk around for a few hours each day to help speed up your recovery, but avoid exercise for at least 6 weeks.
With your breast augmentation, you may need to wear a special bra that doesn’t put pressure on the incision. Keeping your arms close to your body for about 3 weeks will avoid putting excess pressure on the recovering breasts.
During your recovery, Dr. Brown will prescribe medication to ease your discomfort.
At first you’ll have red and visible scars, but be patient. They will fade.
You should not tan for a year to avoid putting excess stress on the healing scars, but most patients are bikini ready in 6 months.
