How long does BOTOX last?

For most patients in Las Vegas, Nevada, BOTOX®lasts about three to four months. However, there are many factors that affect how BOTOX lasts, so while some patients may need more frequent injections, others may be able to go up to a year between treatments.

Botox works by bonding to nerve receptors that send signals to the muscles for them to contract. This bond is actually permanent, but your body continually makes new receptors and neurotransmitters, so the practical effect wears off. Every person builds new receptors and neurotransmitters at their own pace, so the effects of BOTOX vary in length from person to person.

There are even a few other factors that can greatly affect the duration of BOTOX efficacy, including:

  • Careful reconstitution of the BOTOX serum
  • Freshness of the BOTOX in use
  • Refrigeration and proper storage of the BOTOX
  • Having a skilled plastic surgeon who can pinpoint the precise injection location for maximum results
