When Will I See Final Results After Blepharoplasty?

Woman pointing to eyelid area to indicate cosmetic surgery The decision to have eyelid surgery often comes with excitement and plenty of questions about recovery. It’s completely normal to wonder how long it will take to heal and when you’ll finally see your results.

Dr. Hayley Brown has been performing plastic surgery for patients in Henderson and Las Vegas since the 1990s. As the board-certified plastic surgeon at Desert Hills Plastic Surgery, she brings a rare combination of technical skill and artistic judgment to each procedure. Her patients benefit from consistent care from consultation through full recovery.

Whether you’re from Henderson, Nevada, or nearby Las Vegas, our team provides support before and after surgery, so you know exactly where you are in your recovery journey.

Your Recovery Timeline, Step by Step

The first few days after surgery are when you’ll notice the most swelling and bruising, which is completely expected. Rest, cool compresses, and keeping your head elevated will help you feel more comfortable during this early phase.

By the end of the second week, much of the visible bruising has usually faded, and you’ll start to feel more like yourself. Most people are comfortable being out and about again around this time.

Over the next month or so, the swelling continues to gradually improve, and your eyelids will start to look smoother and more defined. Even though you may feel pretty close to normal by week six, your final results will still be settling in.

For many patients, the full result becomes clear around three months after surgery. In some cases, especially with lower eyelid procedures, subtle refinements can continue to take shape for up to six months.

What Can Affect Your Healing Time

Everyone’s healing process looks a little different. Things like your age, skin quality, and general health all affect how quickly your body recovers.

Smoking or too much sun exposure can slow things down, while following your aftercare instructions and getting plenty of rest can really make a difference. If you can stay patient with the process and focus on healthy habits, your results should take shape more smoothly.
