Why NeoGraft?
Current Techniques in Hair Restoration:
The Strip Harvesting technique is the predominate method used in Las Vegas by the current physicians and large hair transplant franchises. With the Strip method, a linear section of scalp is excised from the back of the head using a scalpel and the wound is sewn together using staples or sutures. Next, the hair follicles or grafts including their bulbs are separated from each other into units of one to four hairs by the technicians and inserted into tiny slits in the balding area. The problem is that the consistency level is reduced when you have multiple technicians cutting grafts by hand. Possibility of graft transection is increased which decreases the graft viability rate. The strip method is a traumatic procedure with more bleeding, longer healing times, greater chance of infection, long term “tight and numb” sensation changes, and a large linear scar that makes short hair styles undesirable.
Why NeoGraft:
The NeoGraft Automated FUE System can treat male pattern baldness and female baldness in almost half the time of any other hair restoration procedure or technique currently available. Utilizing the latest NeoGraft technology at Neograft Nevada, hair follicles are extracted without damage to the follicle and can be immediately transplanted to the selected area of the scalp. The scalp is not excised as small hair follicle units are removed directly from the donor area. In this hair restoration procedure, the automated NeoGraft instrument makes a 0.8 mm punch excision in the skin around the upper part of the follicular unit (hair follicles). The hair follicle is then extracted directly from the scalp resulting in pristine, transplant ready grafts with no additional cutting or preparation needed. Because of NeoGraft’s automation, each graft is extracted with the same consistency in diameter and length resulting in a dramatically increased graft viability rate of 95% or greater. There is virtually no pain, bleeding, or post procedure trauma with NeoGraft. There is no large linear scar as seen with the Strip Harvesting technique. In most cases, the donor area is completely healed and undetectable in less than 2 weeks. A huge advantage of Neograft, is that there is no discernible donor site in men with very short or shaved hairstyles, and women are confident wearing their hair up and back with no visible donor site.
Unlike the traditional FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) method that relies on the differing skill levels of each doctor or technician, NeoGraft allows consistency of placement as the technology operates under automated control. For some physicians, the FUE is a time consuming and technically difficult procedure to perform. In contrast, NeoGraft provides the ability to perform the highest level of expertise in hair restoration, in less than half the time, and with little or no pain to the patient.
The amount of hair that can be transferred with the NeoGraft is significantly higher than past techniques. FUE procedures done by hand range between 500 to 700 grafts per session while NeoGraft increases the total to more than 2000 grafts. NeoGraft works by removing the hair follicles from where the hair is thicker and genetically programmed to continue to grow, typically the back of the head. Under gentle vacuum pressure, each follicle is removed individually. Unlike other grafting techniques, the gentle pressure of NeoGraft does not risk damaging the follicle, or driving it further into the skin as often happens with traditional surgery. Using NeoGraft, Dr Brown controls the pressure and sets it to each individual’s scalp, applying just the right amount of pressure to remove the follicle safely and completely. The follicle can then be transplanted to the balding area easily.
NeoGraft is the least invasive hair restoration procedure available, with the fewest complications, and provides the patient with a natural appearance. Our skilled staff at Neograft Nevada can restore your hairline artistically and beautifully.
What Happens After the Procedure?
When the hair transplant has been completed, you will be provided with post-operative instructions. You can leave the office with light a light bandage and will be able to shampoo your hair the next day. Most patients resume normal activity in a day or two. Tiny crusts may form where the transplants have been placed and usually shed in 4 to 7 days. The transplanted hair will remain visible for two to three weeks and may then fall out. Your patience is important because the bulb of the hair remains dormant under the skin for six to twelve weeks. In time, a new hair will grow from the bulb. Significant hair growth will begin by 4-6 months and full hair growth is normally visible by 9 to 12 months.
Who performs the NeoGraft procedure?
All procedures at NeoGraft Nevada are perfomed by Dr. Brown with the assistance of a highly skilled, certified technician and our certified scrub assistant.
How is the cost of NeoGraft calculated?
Pricing with NeoGraft is closely related to the number of grafts transplanted. This can be dependent on the level of hair loss, your specific goals, the quality and attributes of your hair. NeoGraft is marginally more expensive than the strip method, but not as expensive as “manual” FUE. Neograft Nevada offers a free hair restoration consultation to determine your needs and cost. The majority of patients require 1000-2000 grafts in one single session.
